In December 2016, Crawley Borough Council and West Sussex County Council signed an agreement to work together on delivering key strategic projects designed to boost Crawley's economic growth and housing delivery and unlock inward investment by securing resources to deliver key regeneration schemes.
The Crawley growth deal has demonstrated remarkable success, unlocking over £50 million of funding investment to deliver multiple transformative projects in Crawley town centre and Manor Royal Business District. These include Queens Square, Eastern Gateway, Western Boulevard, Manor Royal highways improvements, new small business and employment space at Churchill Court, a new bus waiting area at Gatwick Airport, Worth Park cycleway and traffic signal upgrades on Haslett Avenue.
In 2026, the growth deal has been renewed to set the economic direction of travel for the next five years through a set of shared principles and key regeneration schemes.
