A brand new, multi-million pound development is taking shape at Crawley College.
Building work is well underway on the facility, which will put the college – part of the Chichester College Group (CCG) – at the cutting edge of training delivery across a range of subjects.
Students will be able to enjoy the benefits from February 2021, with the build set to be completed in January.
The new building, which is situated next to the college’s 58 Restaurant in College Road, will be home to a suite of innovative and interactive spaces, which will be used to deliver STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects to students at the college.
We are thrilled to see our new STEM centre taking shape. Despite the terrible weather at the start of this year and the impact of Covid-19, our contractors at W Stirland have been working hard to ensure we can open the building in the new year, as planned. Our STEM centre will really revolutionise the way we deliver training and education, integrating STEM technologies into all subjects across the college. This is a really exciting time for Crawley College, especially following our Outstanding Ofsted report earlier this year. That just shows the progress we are making here and we can’t wait for the next stage. The students who join us this September will be the first to enjoy this fantastic facility when it opens in February – and it is never too late to apply to study with us and be part of our Outstanding journey.

The facility, which has received funding from the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership, will house cutting-edge technology, including virtual and mixed reality technology. It will be used to train students and apprentices in the latest skills required by industries across the region.
Investing in skills training has never been more crucial. As we look to support recovery in Crawley during these unprecedented times, colleges are going to be vitally important for businesses and industries across the country. We are working hard to address skills needs in the engineering, construction and IT industries by providing high quality, employer-led training in facilities that meet and anticipate industry standards. By investing in new technology and developing new ways of learning, we’ll be able to cultivate new courses to train and re-train future workforces in a wide range of specialisms that will drive up career aspirations and provide opportunities. The centre will also be available to our local schools, employers and the wider community – it is so important to see this as an investment in Crawley’s future.
