Investors, developers and businesses are invited to find out more about Crawley’s regeneration in the third Crawley Investor Tour taking place on Wednesday 5 June from 8.30am-1.30pm.
Crawley remains one of the UK’s strongest performing city economies and the regeneration of the town continues at an impressive pace. It has a range of hi-tech sectors that make up its economy, including: STEM, aviation services and avionics, life sciences; professional services and transport services around Gatwick Airport, which, as the world’s biggest single runway airport, provides 24,000 jobs.
Manor Royal Business District, a jewel in the crown, is home to 600 businesses and 30,000 jobs. It has seen many exciting upgrades to its infrastructure in the last 12 months including Regus; a highly connected business network with serviced offices and co-working space and, coming soon, a half million square foot business hub at Gatwick Park.
Crawley town centre has a thriving retail sector with a mix of big brands and independent shops that attract high footfalls each week. The ongoing public realm works along Queensway, The Pavement and Kingsgate will further enhance the area, creating an attractive, vibrant and enjoyable space for residents and visitors. In the past two years, over 1,200 new residential units in the town centre have been delivered or granted planning permission and a further 500 are in the pipeline.
There are a number of exciting occupier opportunities available in Manor Royal and six sites for potential high grade commercial development in the town centre have also been identified.
Delegates attending the event will be able to view all of these sites and find out more about the ongoing range of opportunities both in the town centre and Manor Royal, as well as meeting council officers and key stakeholders in Crawley.
Crawley is undergoing major regeneration, with new developments and opportunities becoming available on a regular basis. The investor tour provides us with a great opportunity to showcase this and enables us to have a wider conversation with those interested in the borough whether they are a business, investor or developer, in Crawley already or new to the area. Our previous two tours have been a great success and so we are very much looking forward to this next event.
Councillor Peter Smith
Crawley Borough Council Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development
