Crawley Borough Council, in partnership with Govia Thameslink Railway, Network Rail and West Sussex County Council, has updated proposals to improve access to the site around Three Bridges Station and we want to know what you think.
A revised detailed design for the scheme, part of the Crawley Growth Programme, takes into account the feedback from the public and stakeholders since the last consultation and additional traffic modelling exercise in July 2018 and February 2019. A new station entrance for pedestrians and cyclists, to serve residents who live to the east of the station, is envisaged as phase one of the scheme.

The council is hosting several information sessions for the public to attend:
The feedback we received from the last consultation was invaluable in helping us review the detailed design proposals for the project. We’ve since undertaken additional traffic modelling works to ensure the feasibility of the new proposals and the supporting information will be available to view and discuss at the upcoming information sessions. This is an important project for the town, so I encourage residents to come along to an information session and find out more.
Councillor Peter Smith
Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development
We are pleased to be working with local councils and partners in pushing forward this potential scheme at Three Bridges station. The station itself provides step-free access to all platforms via lifts. We know that accessibility is important for passengers across all modes of transport and that’s why we are supportive of this scheme. Adding a second entrance to the station and strengthening the transport infrastructure in the station surroundings is vital as the population and local economy grows.
Director of Business Development at Network Rail
We are pleased to see this project moving forward - it’s an important project within the Crawley Growth Programme and we welcome the opportunity to hear feedback on the latest proposals. I would encourage people to attend one of the information events, where they can hear more about the new proposals.
Leader of West Sussex County Council
We continue to work closely with partners to improve railways across the Coast to Capital area and we are delighted to see plans progress for Three Bridges station. These upgrades will be crucial in improving the accessibility to the network and will greatly benefit the wider Crawley Growth Programme. We encourage local residents and businesses to have their say on the proposal.
