Queensway, The Pavement and Kingsgate - project update

Paving along Queensway and The Pavement is near completion and the area is open to the public, including in front of the retailers.

Groundworks have been completed outside of Marks and Spencer and the paving work is almost complete. Access is still available in this area in a reduced capacity however due to the ongoing works.

New trees have been planted Queensway, along with new street furniture throughout Queensway and The Pavement.

The project is on schedule and over the next few weeks you will see the paving works continuing outside of Marks and Spencer, moving up into Kingsgate and outside of Sainsbury's. Alterations to the kerbing and road around Parkside will take place.

New lighting columns will be installed, along with new tree pits and bicycle stands.

Work will be undertaken to snag, clean and seal all areas of paving around the site. The sealant will act as a barrier, preventing permanent stains and allowing the Neighbourhood Services Team to effectively clean the area once the site has been handed over.

Throughout April, Blakedown and the council held the 'Your Crawley' competition, inviting local residents to capture something about the town centre that they love and enjoy, either in the past or present or what they hope to see in the future.
